The Kalamazoo Drop-In Child Care Center (KDCCC) was established to provide free, short-term child care for low-income families with children from six weeks through the age of 5. Parents are able to place their children in the care of the qualified KDCCC staff while they search for jobs, seek housing, attend appointments, or take a healthy break from the demands of parenting. The KDCCC is a warm, safe, and supportive environment for children and their parents.
KDCCC provides age-appropriate activities that nurture early childhood development. Children play, sing, laugh, and grow while visiting KDCCC. A nutritious lunch and time to rest are also provided.
Registration in the program is required prior to using this service. Space is limited and reservations can be made 2 weeks in advance. Other restrictions may apply, please see our Parent Handbook for more information.

Parents who qualify for our free service are income eligible for Medicaid or meet the income requirements established by the Federal Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program. The center is fully licensed. All staff and volunteers are thoroughly screened prior to working at KDCCC. A staff member is present with volunteers at all times during operational hours.
Through parent education classes, KDCCC gives parents the opportunity to build parenting skills and self-esteem. Participants form friendships and find support from others who are experiencing similar child rearing or other life concerns.
